Holiday Card Project: Longmont United HospitalIf you guys didn't know, deviantart had an amazing Holiday Card Project this year. Deviants from around the world sent in their beautiful holiday cards, and they were distributed to hospitals. I was lucky enough to be one of the volunteers that distributed cards to spread the holiday cheer. I chose the Longmont United Hospital to hand out cards, as it holds a special place in my heart.I received the cards in the mail earlier this week. The amount of artistic detail and creativity I saw with these cards was astonishing. You all have some real talent!A few of the cards:Bumblebee protected the cards from any intruders. She was giving everyone a stare down that came close to the cards. Eventually, Bumble let me near the cards, so I went on my way to the hospital.I arrived and went in to hand off the cards. :

Holiday Card Project - Monroe Clinic HospitalHello all,I had the pleasure of being able to take 80 cards from the Holiday Card Project and drop them off at my local hospital, thus spreading some cheer here in Wisconsin! The package with the cards arrived Wednesday evening and I was excited to get them sent off to the hospital however I had to wait until Friday because of a silly blizzard. For the sake of showing off how amazing this community is, I took a picture of a few cards which are now at my local hospital.I wish I could have taken photos of all of the wonderful cards, but I wanted to be sure they remained categorized as well as safe from the hands of my children. If anyone recognizes any of these cards as their own I'd love to know who sent them all. After clearing off my car which was covered in nearly a foot of snow mamiffer and I drove to our local hospital to drop off all of the cards. Holiday Card Project- UMass Medical Center- UPDATE go to the bottom to see the update Hello everyone! I'm here to talk about the journey that I went on earlier today.Last week I was asked by Ayame-Kenoshi if I would be willing to help distribute cards from the holiday card project, so naturally I said that I would, and I started calling my area hospitals to find out if any of them would accept the cards. Eventually, I had to call UMass Medical Center, which is about a half hour away from where I live, and I got them to agree to take in cards. I was quite excited. So yesterday evening, I got home from work and I found a package sitting on my table, and inside of it were 200 cards! I opened the box to make it sure was filled with the cards, then my mom and I took the time to look through all of them. There were some really amazing ones! The assorted pile of 200 cards laying across my bed, I took the time to look at them and count them. And man, some of
The Holiday Card Project: The Denver VA Hospital:iconKatara-Alchemist:Katara-AlchemistThe Holiday Card Project is a project conducted by deviantART to collect holiday cards from deviants around the world to be distributed to different hospitals and bring a little holiday cheer to the people in those hospitals. This year I was lucky enough to be able to participate in this project in a major way: handing out cards to a local Denver Colorado area hospital. I choose to hand the cards out at my local Veterans hospital and was lucky enough to have picked a hospital with an incredibly friendly volunteer department that was more than willing to let me come hand out cards. The cards arrived in two bundles, though one broke open. There some freaking amazing cards and artwork in both bundles. You guys are all amazing for making such great cards!

The cards were then divvied up and distributed in-person by dA members at the UCI Medical Center in Orange, California. Extra cards were given to various hospitals in the U.S. and abroad for their staff to hand out to patients. The idea behind the Holiday Card Project is to simply try and do something nice for others. Holiday Card Project!Today was an amazing day, probably one of the best of my life. The card project went great, the caroling went awesome and the rest of the day was super fun too. I'd just like to tell you all how it went if that's alright First we started out with getting up and eating food. Exciting right? Then was a 4 hour drive there, in which time we slept and got rested up to get to the hospital. We practiced our carols for 20 minutes before getting there and we headed in quickly because it was really cold out. We headed up to the transplant floor and talked to the nurse. Our first roadblock came in the form of that they have 32 beds that can be filled... and they only had 15 patients there at the moment, 8 of which who were sleeping and didn't want to be bothered. Deviant art... sent me 50 cards even though I only requested 32. We just shrugged and went with it, going room to room to spread holiday cheer. The first people we went to were two patients visiting in the hallway with too ladies. W
